Faith Builders Statement of Faith
Core Beliefs:
The bible is the infallible Word of God; it is a lamp. Psalms 119: 105 says "Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path."
~The Godhead ~
Our God is one but manifested in three persons - the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. John 14: 25-26 says "All this I have spoken while still with you, But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.
~Man, His fall and Redemption~
Man is created in the likeness and image of God. By responding to temptation the created man fell into sin but God created a plan to deliver man from this state of sinfulness.
Romans 5:12 says "Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men because all sinned."
Romans 3:22-24 says "This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe - There is no difference, for all has sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and we are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that comes by Christ Jesus."
~Eternal Life and New Birth~
Man's first step to salvation is to have a heart of repentance because whatever is in a man's heart will come out of his mouth.
We believe what Romans 10:9-10 says "That if you confess with your mouth that JESUS IS LORD and believe in your heart that God raised His Son from the dead, you will be saved and have an everlasting life. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved."
~Water Baptism~
Matthew 28:19 says "Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and of the Holy Spirit."
~Baptism in the Holy Spirit~
Acts 2:3-4 says "They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues". The tongues symbolize speech, the fire symbolizes purification.
~Sanctification~
Sanctification is a progressive work of Grace. 2 Corinthians 3:18 says "And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory which comes from the Lord who is the Spirit."
Romans 12:2 says "Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind". Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - His good, pleasing and perfect will.
~Divine Healing~
Healing is through prayer, faith, and by the laying on of hands. Read Isaiah 53:4-5, Mark 16:15-18, and 1 Peter 2:24.
~Resurrection of the Just and the Return of our Lord~
1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 says "For the Lord Himself will come down from heaven with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. And those who have died believing in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And we will be with the Lord forever. So encourage each other with these words."
~Hell and Eternal Retribution~
Hebrews 9:27 says "Just as everyone must die once and be judged". Judgment will come and when it does where will you go?
To believe in your heart and say with your mouth Romans 10:9 your name will be written in the Book of Life, but if not Revelations 20:15 says "Anyone whose name is not found written in the Book of Life was thrown into the lake of fire.
